Local bird owners search for missing parrot

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Some local bird owners are happy to have found a stolen pet on Tuesday, but they are still asking for help finding another parrot that is still missing.

Staff at Parrot University in Pineville showed Eyewitness News surveillance video of a man and a woman in their shop one year ago.

They said the duo looked around for an hour and then took off with two cockatoos.

Parrot University got several leads after posting pictures on Facebook that led them to a bird show.

"We would dearly love to get her back, so we are still offering a reward. The reward for Emmy is now $1,000. We will not prosecute; we want the bird returned safely," said Debbie Foster, a parrot trainer.

Parrot University offers parrot supplies, classes, adoption and boarding.
