Local developer plots mixed-use project in northern Mecklenburg County

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — It appears a local developer is planning a mixed-use project north of Huntersville. The developer’s rezoning request will go before local leaders for approval in the coming weeks.

Charlotte-based CapRock is seeking to rezone a 38.1-acre site between Huntersville and Davidson in the community of Caldwell.

Huntersville town documents show the developer is plotting a mixed-use project for the site, which is located on Caldwell Station Road. The project would include a range of housing types and commercial space, according to a site plan available in town records.

It would be named Caldwell Crossing.
