CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This craft-beer spinoff is for the dogs.
Calvin’s Craft Cookies upcycles grains from local breweries to create nutritious dog treats.
Entrepreneur Eric Westerduin co-founded that venture with Sheera Bursch — a trained veterinary technician. His 7-year-old dachshund, Calvin, is the face of the company.
The duo has spent the last six months dialing in the concept.
“Early on we felt we had something. People are telling me their dogs love these,” Westerduin says. “We’re hoping this is the start of something bigger.”
