Local nonprofit believes drum therapy provides emotional outlet for kids

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — There are numerous ways to help people facing mental health challenges in the community and one local nonprofit believes in the power of music.

The Alexander Youth Network is the only mental health treatment agency in the region that uses a particular form of drum therapy.

One therapeutic recreational specialist told Channel 9 that drums help children stay focused and provide an emotional outlet.
