CONCORD, N.C. — In the latest signal that air travel is flying high again after nearly grinding to a halt during the pandemic, Allegiant Air is adding service at Concord-Padgett Regional Airport and multiple other airports.

The low-cost carrier is adding nearly a dozen new nonstop routes, including a flight from Concord to Florida’s Melbourne Orlando International Airport, according to a press release yesterday.

The new flight there will take off Nov. 18. The airline is offering an introductory, one-way fare starting at $39, but it says seats and dates are limited. Tickets must be booked today for travel by Feb. 14.

Also among Allegiant’s new routes is a flight from Asheville Regional Airport to Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport in Minnesota. The introductory fare for that route will be $49, with service starting Oct. 7.
