CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man accused of murder in a May 2011 killing was convicted Friday, according to the District Attorney's Office.
Eric Blackmon was convicted of first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon for the murder of Miguel Angel Audon Corado, 40.
Blackmon's trial started Monday.
The jury returned a unanimous verdict around 7 p.m. after deliberating for about three hours.
Blackmon had two prior armed robbery convictions and was on post-release supervision, after having served a prison sentence, at the time that he committed this robbery and murder.
Charges are still pending against Blackmon's co-defendant in the case, according to the DA.
