Man arrested after shooting gun in road rage incident on I-85

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was arrested after police said he fired shots at a car on I-85 during a road rage incident.

Police said Robert Gaston shot at the car just before 6:30 a.m. Thursday near Glenwood Drive in west Charlotte.

The victim, who didn't want to be identified, told Channel 9 that Gaston came up on his passenger side and started yelling at him.

"When I hit the brakes, he hit his brakes and he shot the gun,” the victim said. “I wasn’t hit, my car wasn’t hit but I was on the phone with the police right after that happened, letting them know I didn’t have a tag number."

The victim gave police a description of the car.
