RALEIGH, N.C. — A man is filing a lawsuit against AT&T claiming the mobile carrier helped scammers steal from him by using the SIM card in his phone.
Scammers can call phone companies pretending to be you and say your phone has been lost or ruined.
The scammers will then ask the company to activate a new SIM card for you on a new phone -- their phone.

The new card gives them access to your calls, texts and bank accounts.
According to the lawsuit, the man who is suing A&T was a cryptocurrency investor who invested $2 million into his business -- a tempting bait for scammers.
