Man robbed, shot several times while sitting outside apartment

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are looking for the people who they say shot a man several times during a robbery outside an east Charlotte apartment.

The shooting happened just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday at the Wellington Farms Apartments on Sloping Oaks Road, just off North Sharon Amity and Hickory Grove roads.

Detectives told Channel 9 the shooting happened when two men walked up to the victim and tried to rob him.

MEDIC said the man who was shot was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Investigators do not have good descriptions of the suspects.
