CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a man was shot overnight outside a north Charlotte motel.
Officers found the victim around 12:30 a.m., shot in the parking lot of the Budget Inn on Old Interstate Road, near North Graham Street and Interstate 85.
Paramedics said the man was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital, but would be OK.

Police told Channel 9 that the victim was involved in a fight with several other people when he was shot.
The suspect ran away after the shooting and officers have not yet released a description.
