CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating its eighth homicide in nine days after a man was shot and killed in an east Charlotte parking lot early Saturday morning.
It happened just before 6 a.m. on Balsam Fir Road, which is south of the intersection of Central Avenue and Albemarle Road.
@CMPD is conducting a homicide investigation in the 6200 block of Balsam Fir Road. One personas been pronounced deceased.

When officers got to the parking lot, they found 25-year-old Rahim Martin-Byrd suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not said led up to the shooting and no arrests have been made.
Police said witnesses have come forward and have been speaking with police.
