Man tried to break into home through 2-year-old's bedroom, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An intruder tried to break into a woman's apartment by throwing a rock through a window to her 2-year-old daughter's bedroom.

It happened at about 1 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex on Archdale Drive, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

Angie Arita was about to get in the shower when she heard the sound of glass breaking. She rushed to check her daughter, who was in the bedroom, and she saw the man trying to get in their home.

The burglar became alarmed and rode away on a bicycle.

The man has not been found, and Arita said she is frustrated and worried.

No injuries were reported.
