LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A Mecklenburg County sheriff’s officer’s identification was stolen Thursday from his vehicle at the Riverwalk Apartments at 251 N. NC Highway 16.
The officer reported the incident to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Charlie District Office.
He said he got into his vehicle Thursday morning to go to the post office when he noticed some CDs lying on the floorboard of the vehicle.
He checked for his Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Department wallet and realized it was missing. The wallet contained his Sheriff’s Department’s badge and photo ID. Also stolen was his sheriff’s office baseball cap.
The lock on the driver’s side door was damaged during the break-in. No other items were reported stolen from the vehicle.
