CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help after one person was seriously hurt Saturday evening in a shooting at a bowling alley in south Charlotte.
Police were called to the shooting just before 6:40 p.m. at the AMF Centennial Lanes on South Boulevard.
According to CMPD, a man walked into the bowling alley and got into an argument with someone inside. Police said two other men began arguing with the same person and a fight broke out.
During the fight, one of the suspects fired several shots, striking the victim. The victim was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Their identity has not been released.
According to police, the suspect walked out of the business after the shooting and got into a dark-colored Jeep SUV. The Jeep was last seen traveling on South Boulevard.
The suspect is described as a black man with mid-back length dreadlocks, wearing gray pants, white/gray shirt and white shoes.
Police said about 40 to 50 people, along with 10 children, were inside the bowling alley at the time of the shooting.
CMPD’s Westover Division Detectives are asking anyone in the community who knows the suspect to call 911. The public can also leave information anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
