MEDIC: 2 hurt, power lines down after crash on Independence Boulevard

The crash happened just after 2:30 a.m. on Friday on East Independence Boulevard.

According to MEDIC, two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Officials closed Independence Boulevard in both directions because of the downed power lines.

A Channel 9 crew at the scene saw fallen power lines over the concrete median as crews worked to shut down the road and multiple first responders across all lanes of East Independence Boulevard.
