MONROE, N.C. — A graduate from Monroe stands out not just for his time of the football field, but also for the offers that have come his way because of it.
Shaleak Knotts is a wide receiver with multiple school records, who reached another milestone that’s incredibly rare -- nearly 30 schools offered him full scholarships.
“Close to $5 million in scholarship money. I don’t think nobody’s done that from where I’m from,” he said.
Knotts ended up choosing the University of Maryland and starts practice Tuesday. He said a lot of people helped him get there.
