MOORESVILLE, N.C. — An event is being hosted Saturday to honor the Mooresville officer who was killed in the line of duty last month.
The first annual “Officer Sheldon Family Fun Day" fundraising event will honor Jordan Sheldon.
His SUV will be on display at the event, allowing the community to pay their respects to him.
The event begins at 4 p.m. and will be held between South Broad Street to West Mclelland Avenue in downtown Mooresville.
Officer Sheldon died May 4 after Michael Aldana shot him during a traffic stop, Police said.
Aldana then drove to his apartment, where he died by suicide. It's still not clear why he shot officer Sheldon.
