More competition among Gaston Co. doctors possible due to new endoscopy center

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — There could soon be more competition among certain Gaston County doctors.

However, it is unclear whether that will mean more savings for patients.

CaroMont Health sued the state for allowing another endoscopy center in Gastonia.

Channel 9’s partners at the Gaston Gazette say an appeals court ruled against CaroMont Tuesday.

That clears the way for four current CaroMont doctors and a peer to open their own endoscopy center.
