NORTH CAROLINA — North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein says he won’t oppose plans for Atrium Health and WakeMed to merge.
Wake County commissioners are set to vote on a transfer agreement for the deal on Tuesday.
On Monday Gov. Stein said Atrium agreed to cap price increases for WakeMed customers.
The network also agreed to increase its charity care.
There’s been concern the merger will raise healthcare cost, mostly in the Triangle.
