CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Someone with a gun stole a Chevy SUV at about 9 p.m. Friday on Rumple Road in northeast Charlotte, officials said.
There was a 17-year-old, an 18-year-old and a 40-year-old in the SUV, officials said.
Police said they later found the SUV, but several other items including a wallet are gone.
"I don't know why they are doing this," neighbor Benetah Gar said.
Gar said it's the second robbery in the area in the last week.
"I got to protect myself,” Gar said.
She is getting a gun permit, as well as a concealed carry permit.
"Where I come from, my country from Africa, we have to work hard to get what we got,” the Liberian native said.
She plans to move to a place where feels safer.
