CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The next stop for Rise Brands is North Carolina.
The Columbus, Ohio-based developer and operator of Pins Mechanical Co. and the 16-Bit Bar+Arcade will open a 20,000-square-foot venue combining duckpin bowling, pinball, classic arcade games, a couple of bars and more in Charlotte next summer.
“As we’ve been looking for markets – Nashville, (Tennessee) Dallas, Austin (Texas) – one city that kept popping up was Charlotte,” owner Troy Allen told CBJ sister publication Columbus Business First. “I hadn’t been there in about four years, so when I visited and saw the growth there and how active it was, I was shocked.
“It was a no brainer for us.”

Rise will take 20,000 square feet inside an old warehouse at 307 W. Tremont in South End. “We’re going to take about a quarter of the roof off and create an outdoor/patio space and a rooftop deck,” Allen said.
