CHARLOTTE — A new police division is coming to northeast Charlotte.
Charlotte City Council unanimously voted Monday night to spend $3.75 million to purchase the land where a new Northeast Division station will be built.
It will be at the corner of W.T. Harris Boulevard and Old Statesville Road.
The city says the current North Division will be split into Northwest and Northeast Divisions
The city says this will help call-response timing and staffing.
