CHARLOTTE — It appears a major industrial development in the Charlotte region has landed its first project.

Multiple sources told the Charlotte Business Journal that Newell Brands will bring a new operation to Gateway85, NorthPoint Development’s 365-acre industrial park in Gaston County.

Gaston County officials considered incentives for the project in late June under the code name “Project Hearth.” According to county documents, it calls for a total investment of $135 million and the creation of 128 jobs.

Newell Brands confirmed its plans in a statement to CBJ on Tuesday afternoon.
