North Carolina boy returned to mother six years later

SILER CITY, N.C. — A North Carolina boy who was kidnapped six years ago is safe with his mother.

Edwin Sanchez Gonzalez’ father abducted him from his Siler City home when he was 2 years old.

Police found the boy’s father, Jorge Aquilera, in 2010, but didn’t find Edwin.

He was found in Texas, but officials won’t say how. Officials said they think the boy’s father left him with family in Mexico.
