RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting in Randolph County early Monday morning.
The shooting happened just after midnight on Zelma Boulevard in Archdale.
Officials said when the Randolph County deputy got to the home, the deputy found the suspect armed with a knife.
Authorities said the deputy shot the suspect and he was later pronounced deceased by EMS crews.
The Randolph County Sheriff's Office identified the man as 46-year-old Carlos Javier Roman Santiago.
Deputies have not released information about what led up to the shooting.
The SBI is investigating the case.
