• Officers called after cow found in church yard in Statesville

    STATESVILLE, N.C. - A cow was loose in Statesville on Friday morning.

    It was on Broad Street in the front yard of Diamond Hill Baptist Church.

    Several officers were involved in wrangling the cow. Police were able to find the owner, who walked the cow home.

    The cow had gotten out of a nearby field by going through a weak spot in the fence.
