ANSON COUNTY, N.C. — A man was arrested Tuesday in Wake Forest for the murder of a 39-year-old in May, police said.
On May 21, officers responded to a deadly shooting in the area of Marshall and Barrington streets around 12:30 p.m. Police said they found Nicholas Tyson shot and confirmed he died at the scene.
After investigating for months, authorities obtained arrest warrants for 20-year-old Christopher Leak. Wake Forest police arrested him and was charged with first-degree murder.
Leak was transported back to Anson County Wednesday, where he will be held without bond.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation helped Wadesboro police with the case investigation.
No other details have been released.
