CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Cabarrus County sheriff’s deputy discovered a pipe bomb on the side of the road in Midland, officials said.
The deputy found it about 7 p.m. Monday on Reed Mine Road near Hartsell Road.
The bomb squad was called to the incident as a precaution.
The bomb was detonated safely.
