Officials: Charlotte fire truck runs off road, hits ditch

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte fire truck ran off the road and hit a ditch Thursday morning, according to the Charlotte Fire Department. Officials said the truck was responding to a call.

The wreck happened before 11 a.m. on Byrum Drive.  It is about a quarter of a mile from an animal shelter.

The truck was able to get back on the road. It was the only vehicle involved and no injuries were reported.

Officials did not say if the accident was weather-related. There was slight damage to the truck.
