LAKE WYLIE, S.C. — A 4,000-gallon fuel spill near Lake Wylie has caught the attention of the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
Officials said the fuel was mistakenly pumped into the wrong port of an underground tank that serves the Lake Club Marina in Rock Hill on Saturday.

From what officials can tell, the fuel is contained directly beneath the underground storage tank and is not impacting the lake.
Officials with DHEC are working with the owner of the tank to monitor the environmental impact.
