DAVIDSON, N.C. — Police on the campus of Davidson College are investigating a third sexual assault in less than a month, and again, college officials are saying little about what happened.

An email was sent out to students late Tuesday afternoon.
It read in part: "The College received a report today, Oct. 7, 2014, that a female student has been sexually assaulted by an individual who is known to her. She reported that the assault occurred on campus sometime in the early morning hours of Oct. 5. The incident is currently under investigation."
Just last month, campus police sent out another email to students notifying them about two sexual assaults that happened about a week apart.
Students told Channel 9 they are frustrated about the repetition of emails and events.
"We as students, especially female students, have a right to feel safe on campus and if nothing is done about it, I think that's a real insult to us as students here at Davidson," said junior Megan Feichtel.
"I'm pretty tired of hearing about it over and over again especially as a young woman. It's frustrating that it keeps coming up and there has been very little response to it," said sophomore Kerry Honan.
Students said campus organizations have launched safe-space planning for female students and fraternities are being encouraged to promote awareness too through bystander training that coaches them on how to identify inappropriate behavior and step in when help is needed.
So far, no arrests have been made and the college released the following statement Wednesday:
Over the past several weeks, Davidson College has issued three timely warning emails-the most recent on October 7-in response to reports of sexual assault on campus. Timely Warning notifications are issued in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. Davidson College's highest priority is student safety and well-being, and the college is actively investigating the reported incidents. However, due to privacy laws, the college is not in a position to provide additional comments on these incidents.
