One dies after motorcycle went off road, struck tree

KANNAPOLIS — According to Kannapolis police, one person died after a motorcycle accident on Saturday night.

The motorcycle went off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Police said the accident happened on Barr Road.

It is unknown if alcohol or speed are contributing factors to the single-vehicle accident.

The victim's name has not been released.
