CHARLOTTE — A crash involving a tractor-trailer carrying vegetable oil shut down the inner loop of Interstate 485 in south Charlotte for hours on Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened at about 1 p.m. and blocked all lanes of the inner loop of I-485 near Johnston Road.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene as cars were backed up for miles behind the overturned tractor-trailer, which was on its side.
Mecklenburg EMS said one person was hurt in the crash but they are expected to be OK.
All lanes of the inner loop were reopened just after 6 p.m.
Troopers were still investigating what caused the crash.
