Panthers close facility, several key starters added to reserve/COVID-19 list

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Panthers aren’t coming back from their bye week at full strength -- additional players will be added to the reserve/COVID-19 list, and some of those players are key starters.

In addition, the team’s facilities will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday, the organization said wide receivers D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel, defensive tackles Derrick Brown and Zach Kerr, linebacker Shaq Thompson, offensive tackle Greg Little, punter Michael Palardy (IR) and practice squad wide receiver Ishmael Hyman have been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

It’s not known if the players tested positive or are quarantining because of possible exposure.

The Panthers said the team will still have virtual meetings and testing, and they plan to consult with medical experts as well as league leaders on any steps they may need to take.

Last week, the Panthers announced rookie defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and practice squad defensive tackle Bruce Hector was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Cornerback Rasul Douglas was added to the list on Oct. 23.

The Panthers had last week off for a bye week ahead of the final four games of the season.
