CHARLOTTE — A person died after being hit by a car in northeast Charlotte Tuesday night.
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on the 2300 block of Harris Houston Road.
According to MEDIC, the victim died at the scene.
On Thursday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department identified the victim as 66-year-old Dale Lee Byrd.
Police said Byrd was lying in the street on Harris Houston Road when he was hit by a Hyundai Santa Fe. The driver wasn’t hurt, and no charges have been announced.
