CHARLOTTE — Channel 9 has learned Mecklenburg County officials plan to open another hotel to help the homeless during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The county, along with several organizations, is working to house dozens of people at the new location.
“There are plans to open another shelter. There will be about 70 places for those who are the most vulnerable.” said Deborah Woolard, Block Love founder.
The location of the shelter will not be disclosed for privacy and safety reasons.
Organizations said the location would be primarily for those in the CDC’s high-risk category.
