Police: 1 dead in overnight shooting in Matthews

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Someone was shot and killed in Matthews overnight, police said.

Police have not released many details.

The shooting occurred on West John Street near Ames Street around 3:30 a.m.

Channel 9 has not heard from police if they are searching for a suspect.
