KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Two men who police say tried to rob a Kannapolis Kentucky Fried Chicken without even being in the store are in custody.
Dustin Hartsell and Neil Hooper knocked on the window of the restaurant on Cannon Boulevard after it closed earlier this week, according to police.
Authorities said they flashed a gun and demanded money but left when employees called police.
Officers found both men a short time later leaving a nearby apartment complex.
