GRANITE QUARRY, N.C. — Granite Quarry police are looking into a case that involves nude photos of young girls and young boys being posted on Instagram.
Officials said many of them have captions involving local schools.
Police across Rowan County are working together and with state prosecutors.
The SBI is looking into similar cases across the state.
They're investigating more than 30 accounts reported in nine different counties.
The first was reported in Wake County when an 18-year-old girl told her mother nude pictures of her popped up on Instagram.
Authorities are working with Facebook, which owns Instagram, for user information.
