STATESVILLE, N.C. - Albert Scott lives in this home on Chambers Street where shots were fired overnight Friday leaving one man dead in his kitchen.
“It was terrible for me to see it,” Scott said.
He said he was in bed when he heard Keith Keaton Jr., who was visiting his son, and Troyshawn Williams, 20, who lived next door, arguing.
Scott said the two were friends.

He said he got out of bed to see what all the commotion was about and he saw Williams leave.
Scott said Williams returned three minutes later with a gun.
"I tried to get him out of the house, and his daddy came over here and tried to get him out of the house, he wouldn't leave," Scott said.
Police said Willams shot Keaton in the chest and the 32-year-old later died at the hospital.
The search was on for Williams. Hours later, police tracked down Williams at the Mallard Creek apartments about 5 miles from the crime scene.
Investigators said they found him hiding under a bed.
“It’s hurting because I didn't want to lose Keith because he's been a friend for years. His daddy's been my friend. He's been my friend,” Scott said.
Williams was questioned by police and taken to jail on murder charges.  He's being held without bond.

Channel 9 checked Williams' criminal record and found he has been convicted of breaking and entering and has a drug conviction.
