CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after a person was shot inside an east Charlotte apartment early Monday morning.
The shooting happened shortly before 4:30 a.m. on Kelston Place, near Albemarle Road.
Officials said three people were inside the apartment when the shooting happened and all three people knew each other.

MEDIC transported one person to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police have not said what may have led to the shooting or if any arrests have been made.
