CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a woman filed a sexual battery report Friday morning.
Officials said the assault happened around 7:30 a.m. on East Boulevard near Latta Park in Dilworth.
Eyewitness News reporter Tina Terry said the exact details of what happened aren't clear, but until officers make an arrest, neighbors told her they're concerned.
"It hasn't happened in quite a number of years, but the way things are in the world, in the city, everywhere, I guess it's not that surprising, unfortunately," said neighbor Pamela North.
Channel 9 was there as investigators walked into several businesses on East Boulevard asking questions and searching for clues.
This incident is the second assault police have investigated in the past two days.
