Police: Man charged with murder after baby's death

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have charged a man in connection with the death of his infant son.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested Travis Pemberton, 29, Monday after his son, Jackobie Morgan, 2, died on Feb. 9.

Police said they were called to Cedar Creek Lane for an infant that was found unresponsive.

Paramedics transported the baby to Carolinas Medical Center Pineville where he was pronounced dead.

After an investigation, the medical examiner's office determine Morgan was physically assaulted, which led to his death.

Pemberton was charged with murder and felony child abuse, police said.
