ROCK HILL, S.C. — Rock Hill police said a man was shot in the leg near the Emmett Scott Recreation Center in Rock Hill.
The shooting happened around 3:15 p.m. Thursday in the rear parking lot of the center on Crawford Road. When officers arrived, they found a man in a car with a single gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center.
Police said the man was a Clinton College student, which is near the center.
People were inside the center at the time, but police said they were not in danger. Police said the staff locked down the facility until officers secured the scene.
