CONCORD, N.C. — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car early Sunday morning after falling off his bike in Concord.
The crash happened on Central Drive near Lake Drive around 2:15 a.m.
Police said a car hit 64-year-old Kelvin Caldwell after he fell off his bike.
Authorities told Channel 9 the driver tried to slow down, but couldn't in time.
Officials said Caldwell died at the scene.
Concord Police said they are continuing to investigate to determine if speed or other elements were factors in the crash.
