Police: Robber dons Halloween mask in Bessemer City CVS heist

Bessemer City Police are looking for a man they said robbed a CVS Wednesday night.

Bessemer City Police Investigator David James said shortly before 8:30 p.m. a man walked in the front door of the CVS, pulled a gun on employees at the registers and demanded money.

"There were some costumers in the back of the store at the pharmacy," James said.

He said none one was hurt, they gave him the money and the man walked out.

"We called a K-9 in. The K-9 tracked for a short distance and lost the trail, so we really don't know if maybe he had a car waiting," James said.

Police said the suspect had on a Halloween mask, jeans and a hoodie.

Officials said they know the robber is a white man because he did not wear gloves.

Police think he is around 5 feet 11 inches tall weighing roughly 230 pounds.

James is asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 704-861-8000.
