CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are searching for the thief who broke into a Ballantyne jewelry store early Tuesday morning.
Officers said they were called to Ballantyne Jewelers on North Community House Road around 1 a.m. after someone broke in and stole jewelry.

Glass from a shattered window could be seen all over the ground where the suspect may have gotten inside or escaped.
This is at least the second time the store has been robbed in the last year.

Channel 9 was there as investigators checked the store for fingerprints.
It's unclear how much jewelry was stolen at this point.
