HICKORY, N.C. — Police said a teenager in Hickory played a major role in an arrest of a man accused of two armed robberies and a kidnapping.
Eyewitness News reporter Dave Faherty learned she helped investigators identify the suspect through his Facebook account.
The teenager said the robber kidnapped her at gunpoint from a parking garage at Valley Hills Mall.
Police said he held her for a while, and during that time, she learned his nickname is Trizzy.
The suspect's real name is Treshun Moore-Fields, and he is charged with armed robbery and kidnapping.
Police arrested him Thursday at a motel in Belmont after an intensive search.
Investigators say he was involved in two robberies in parking lots along Highway 70, including one in which he forced a teenager to drive to an ATM and withdraw money.
During the robbery, the teenager talked to the man.
After the robbery, the teenager showed Channel 9 how she looked up his nickname on Facebook and found him wearing the same clothes and a photo of the gun used during the robbery.
"I was like, 'Maybe I'll find him by his nickname,'" said witness Rubi Sandoval. "Everyone else posts their name on Facebook. I did it. I looked up Trizzy and he was the one who popped up, and I was like, 'This is the guy.'"
Police brought Moore-Fields to Hickory Thursday afternoon.
