Portion of I-77 in Mooresville closed after crash involving tractor-trailer

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A portion of Interstate 77 in Mooresville is shut down Wednesday evening after an accident involving a tractor-trailer.

The crash happened 5:30 p.m. between Langtree Road and Williamson Road on I-77 northbound.

Troopers told Channel 9 that the crash involved a tractor-trailer and at least one other vehicle. Authorities have not said what led to the crash or if anyone was injured.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene and could see traffic is backed up for miles.

All lanes of the highway are blocked as troopers investigate.
