The Punch Room to reopen in Uptown this summer

CHARLOTTE — A longtime cocktail destination is reopening its doors for the first time since the pandemic.

The Punch Room sits on top of the The Ritz-Carlton in Uptown Charlotte, and it’s returning by popular demand just as Uptown has started reviving. It first opened in 2014 after the hotel opened in 2009.

The space has 37 seats, creating an intimate environment for its guests. Adding to that experience is a small staff of four people led by mixologist Kelly Minton.

Minton, who has been bartending for 14 years, is excited to roll out weekly hyper-seasonal menus and drinks that can be customized to the guest.

At the Punch Room, sustainability is top of mind. On the roof of The Ritz, the team grows spices and flowers used in their drinks. They mindfully harvest the garden to protect the bees and minimize waste.

The Punch Room will be open in August on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays to start. You can make reservations or even book private events in the space.

While you’re at The Ritz, you can stop by Bar Cocoa, the hotel’s coffee shop that’s open seven days a week. There’s also a sommelier there five days a week -- Tuesday through Saturday.
